#TGPNPC Brown: Day 35 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

The next theme for the Neverending Pile Challenge is Brown. I do not have a lot of brown polishes. Probably because I do not think they'll suit my skin colour. But there is this one polish that stole my heart: Femme Fatale's This Fruitcake is Not a Lie.
Femme Fatale's This Fruitcake is Not a Lie layered over Inglot 346
The Fruitcake... is part of FF's Christmas 2013 Trio."A burgundy brown jelly base filled with shimmer brown and caramel along with magenta squares, chocolate hexes, and accents of red and green. Definitely a festive shade, this colour was inspired by the tradional fruitcakes served during the holiday season," states their website.

The polish was packed with glitter. I layered it over Inglot 346 (warm dark brown with golden shimmer) as seen on my pointer and pinky. The two polishes seemed made for each other.
Here's a close up of all the lovely glitters in this gorgeous polish. It dries a bit textured as you can see in this picture. Two coats of Seche Vite should take care of the problem.
How many colours can you spot? I haven't had a proper fruitcake but after owning this polish, I definitely want to get my hands on some :)

#TGPNPC Purple: Day 32 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

For this challenge, I used something I had bought a very long time ago but never worn (of course). Fantasy Fire, a  Max Effect nail polish  by MaxFactor, is a lemming for many polish lovers. Thankfully, it arrived in India about the time I got interested in polish.
Maxfactor Fantasy Fire layered over Dutch Ya Just Love OPI
FF is a complex and amazing polish. It looks like a purple jelly with red-green-gold shimmer. However, if you turn the bottle you can see an 'oil slick' of colours in the bottle.

Since the polish is a layering polish, the formula was thin. I layered it over Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, a dark red toned purple with a golden and red shimmer. It was the perfect base for FF

Check out the gorgeous shimmery oomph it lent to the base. I could not catch the red to gold shift, except for my pointer in the first picture. But it was definitely there. I will now try layering it over a dark blue and black to see how that turns out.
How do you like this manicure? Don't forget to leave a comment below.

Enchanted nails

Hi lovelies,

I apologise for being AWOL. If you've been following my blog, you will know about my finicky internet connection. I decided to take another recourse so I would not lose you guys. I am blogging from another computer.
My blogger friend Dimpal Rathore from Crazy Polishes started a new Facebook group called Indian Lacquer Lovers. The nail art posted by some members are so ah-mazing, you have to see it to believe it. To cut a long story short, Dimpal came up with the idea of having a regular Friday feature for ILL. So, here goes...

Isn't this a beauty? Green jelly gorgeousness.

And squishy holo-ey gorgeousness.

If you haven't guessed till now, this beauty is NYX Enchanted Forest twice layered over Revlon Forest Green.

Enchanted Forest has tiny, medium and large holographic glitters in a thick, light green jelly base. Application was easy though you might have to fish out the large glitters. The thick base ensures that the glitters look suspended instead of sitting flat on your nails.
The Revlon Forest Green is a green forest green creme. It dries darker than the shade in the bottle. It is not a one coater. Two thick coats should do the trick. WARNING: It stains like a biatch. I loved this combination but the Revlon stained my nails YELLOW through two coats of peel-off polish! UGHH!
Oh, btw, if you are looking to buy the NYX, there are two versions out there with this same name. Be sure you are getting the chunky glitter and not the fine glitter polish.
