#TGPNPC Gold: Day 36 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

For this prompt, I bring you my first MAC polish. And it is very special also because it was a gift from lovely Dhara who blogs at The Happi Therapy.
MAC Sinfully Sweet
This is Sinfully Sweet from the MAC Indulge Collection of Fall 2013. This limited edition polish is described as 'sparkling champagne with gold pearl'. It means the polish is a gold shimer mixed with warm gold flecks.

MAC Sinfully Sweet

Though gold, the colour is not in your face. And it goes with most of your outfits. I really liked this polish, hope you do too.

#TGPNPC Brown: Day 35 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

The next theme for the Neverending Pile Challenge is Brown. I do not have a lot of brown polishes. Probably because I do not think they'll suit my skin colour. But there is this one polish that stole my heart: Femme Fatale's This Fruitcake is Not a Lie.
Femme Fatale's This Fruitcake is Not a Lie layered over Inglot 346
The Fruitcake... is part of FF's Christmas 2013 Trio."A burgundy brown jelly base filled with shimmer brown and caramel along with magenta squares, chocolate hexes, and accents of red and green. Definitely a festive shade, this colour was inspired by the tradional fruitcakes served during the holiday season," states their website.

The polish was packed with glitter. I layered it over Inglot 346 (warm dark brown with golden shimmer) as seen on my pointer and pinky. The two polishes seemed made for each other.
Here's a close up of all the lovely glitters in this gorgeous polish. It dries a bit textured as you can see in this picture. Two coats of Seche Vite should take care of the problem.
How many colours can you spot? I haven't had a proper fruitcake but after owning this polish, I definitely want to get my hands on some :)

#TGPNPC Green: Day 34 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

Still catching up with the Neverending challenge on my blog, the challenge is GREEN! And I had a tough time choosing from the scores of green polishes I own. Finally, I decided to go with a lemming I managed to fulfil: here's Picture Polish Kryptonite.

Picture Polish Kryptonite indoors
I am no superman, but this polish is a killer! Just look at it. Perfect colour, perfect depth, perfect sparkle. OMG! I just couldn't stop staring at it.
Picture Polish Kryptonite in sunlight
Kryptonite is a blogger collab shade by PP created in 2012 with Australian blogger Cathy aka More Nail Polish (you must check out this blog). This is a dark green scattered holo which dries smooth on the nail. The formula was excellent. This is three coats.

Here's a shaky print of a macro shot so you can see the holo particles. I am so much in love with this polish that the thought of doing nail art just did not enter my head. I do not want to apply it, just admire the bottle (kooky, or what?).

#TGPNPC Blue: Day 33 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

Blues! Man, this contest can have blue (or even greens) as a challenge for another 40 days and I could meet it without any trouble. This time, I'll show you an indie polish from one of my favourite brands: Different Dimension.
Different Dimension Da Ba Dee layered over Cuccio Cobalt Blue
This super sparkly beauty is Different Dimension Da Ba Dee, a blue jelly choked with different sizes of silver and blue holographic circle, hex and square glitters.

It was so sparkly I was glad I used it as accent nails. I swear I could have blinded myself with the bling :)

Since it was pretty glitter-heavy, above is just ONE coat!, I did not want to layer it 3 times to get it opaque. Instead I layered it over Cuccio's Cobalt Blue, a dark blue shimmer matte from its Precious Metals Collection. I did slide around the large glitters a bit as my nails have a nice curve.

Here's a macro of Da Ba Dee. Ain't it purdy?!

#TGPNPC Polish Whose Name You Cannot Pronounce: Day 39 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,
I do not really own polishes with tongue-twisting names. The hardest one I could think of was Model's Own Sardonyx.

Model's Own Sardonyx with topcoat

This is from its Velvet Goth collection. It is a deep red base packed with tiny red and black glitters. It applies glossy and dries to a matte finish.

It gives off a 2D effect but is not rough on the nails. The bottle has an interesting velvet lid.

I used a golden bow sticker on my accent nail. What do you think of this manicure? Don't forget to leave a comment.

#TGPNPC Purple: Day 32 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,

For this challenge, I used something I had bought a very long time ago but never worn (of course). Fantasy Fire, a  Max Effect nail polish  by MaxFactor, is a lemming for many polish lovers. Thankfully, it arrived in India about the time I got interested in polish.
Maxfactor Fantasy Fire layered over Dutch Ya Just Love OPI
FF is a complex and amazing polish. It looks like a purple jelly with red-green-gold shimmer. However, if you turn the bottle you can see an 'oil slick' of colours in the bottle.
Maxfactor Fantasy Fire layered over Dutch Ya Just Love OPI
Since the polish is a layering polish, the formula was thin. I layered it over Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, a dark red toned purple with a golden and red shimmer. It was the perfect base for FF

Check out the gorgeous shimmery oomph it lent to the base. I could not catch the red to gold shift, except for my pointer in the first picture. But it was definitely there. I will now try layering it over a dark blue and black to see how that turns out.

#TGPNPC Red: Day 31 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,
Red was another colour I wasn't fond of till a while ago. But I have to admit it looks great on Indian skin. Most polish brands till recently used to stock pearl whites, reds and browns only. Thank God for brands like Colorbar for bring in new and exciting colours! And revamping the traditional red, too :)
Colorbar Red Earth
This is Red Earth from Colorbar's Quick Finish range. It is hot red creme which looks tomato red in sunlight. It is pretty bright!
Colorbar Red Earth
Since I was wearing a red and white top with jeans, I stamped on it with white using my XL plate M for the whorls and XL R for the woman on my ring finger.

Here's a closeup of the lady who caught a lot of attention for this woman ;)

#TGPNPC Pink: Day 30 of The Neverending Pile Challenge

Hi lovelies,
Pink is a colour I am not very fond of. I consider it too girly, that's totally not me :D Yet, surprisingly my stash does include pink polishes (wonder when I bought that?!).

Colorbar Bubbly
This is Bubbly from the Colorbar Quick Finish Range. It is a hot pink creme -- a colour I would not wear on its own. I feel it is too bright for my colouring. But since the challenge is also about wearing colours never worn before, I decided to wear it as polish instead of using it as part of a gradient or stamping polish.
Colorbar Bubbly
Since I was still uncomfortable going absolutely pink, I layered a glitter polish on it. I got a couple of these cute jelly glitters from a neighbouring store. They do not have any names. This one is a pink jelly with white matte hexes and bars along with iridescent micro glitters. It covered the pink enough to make me comfortable wearing it for two days.
And, I conquered my fear of pink. What do you think of this manicure? Do leave a comment below.
